In Loving Memory of Marilyn A. (Lynn) Katzmar

October 22, 1938 – July 23, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marilyn A. (Lynn) Katzmar, aged 86, of Philadelphia, PA, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, at Wesley Enhanced Living Penny Pack.

Marilyn was born in Philadelphia on October 22, 1938, to the late Alda (Buckland) and Arthur Haggett. She was the beloved widow of Elmer W. Katzmar.

For many years, Marilyn worked as a dedicated saleswoman in the retail industry, where she built strong relationships with both colleagues and customers. Her work ethic, warmth, and bright spirit made her a cherished part of her community, and her smile was known to light up any room she entered.

Marilyn’s true joy, however, came from her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, William News (Linda), Karen Vitable (William), Jeffrey News (Shannon) and William Katzmar (Patricia). She was the devoted grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Lynn was also the beloved sister of Arthur Haggett (and his late wife Gail), Robert Haggett (Jane) and Dorothy Baglivo (Vince). She also leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and resilience that will live on in all who knew her.

Marilyn’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Wesley Enhanced Living Penny Pack for their compassionate care and support during her final days.

A graveside service will be held at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA, on Tuesday, August 5th at 2pm where Marilyn will be laid to rest with her late husband Elmer.

Though Marilyn is no longer with us, her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be forever remembered for her love, grace, and the indelible mark she left on the world.
