Marilyn (Haikara) Loos passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 79. Mrs. Loos earned her BS in Microbiolgy from Hunter College and worked for Rockefeller Institute and the Chef Francisco department of the Heinz Company. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bridge of Hope, Finnish Society and Hearts & Hands. Marilyn enjoyed embroidering, gardening, experiencing other cultures, blue grass music and spending time with her family. She often visited home bound members of her church. Marilyn never met a person she didn’t know. She was the embodiment of the Finnish word sisu, which means ‘strength of will’. Born in New York City, NY on July 6, 1937, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Karin Haikara. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of almost 57 years, Wesley E. Loos; a son, Eric W. Loos of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Karin E. Feist and her husband, Adam, of Bonita Springs, FL; 3 grandchildren: Casey Feist, Jamie Zerbe and Holly Nacarelli; and 6 great-grandchildren: Jakob and Hannah Feist, Grace Zerbe, and Julie, Joey and Stella Nacarelli. Marilyn’s Memorial Service will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 132 E. Valley Forge Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 10 to 10:50 am, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 132 E. Valley Forge Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406.
