Mark William Scott, Jr passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia, PA. He was 45 and was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. Born in Norristown, PA on January 8, 1981, he was a son of Mark W. Scott, Sr. and the late Alice M. (Brown) Scott. Mark was an Upper Merion High School graduate, Class of 1999. He was an ironworker for the Philadelphia Ironworkers Local Union 401 for over 25 years.
Surviving is his loving family in addition to his father; his wife of 14 years, Danielle (DeStefano) Scott; his son, Adam M. Scott; a brother, Shaun E. Scott; and many other loving family members and friends.
A truly devoted husband and father, he loved deeply and gave freely, always putting his family first with a kindness and thoughtfulness that touched everything he did. He was the kind of man who showed his love in everyday moments, always checking in, always helping without being asked, and always putting his family first.
Mark was a devoted sports fan who loved cheering on all of the Philadelphia teams, along with his beloved Alabama football—always proudly saying “Roll Tide.” A lifelong Oakland A’s fan, he treasured the opportunity to have met Rickey Henderson twice. Some of his happiest moments were spent as a Phillies season ticket holder alongside his son, where Sundays at the ballpark became a cherished tradition filled with laughter, bonding, and a shared love of the game.
Mark also found great joy in attending concerts with his wife and son, creating lasting memories through music, family, and the experiences they shared together.
Mark cherished his summers in Sea Isle City, where he vacationed each year surrounded by extended family. Those weeks at the shore were among his happiest, filled with laughter, traditions, and time spent with the people he loved most. He will be forever loved and deeply missed and will live on in our hearts always.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to a GoFundMe for his son Adam at https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-adam-scotts-future-after-loss
Arrangements are by The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Bridgeport, PA and will be private at the family’s request.
