Mary C. (Phillips) DeGenova passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Phoenixville, PA. She was 91. Mrs. DeGenova was a resident of Phoenixville and was formerly of Jeffersonville, PA. She worked 50 years as a waitress for the Gateway Diner in Jeffersonville, PA, retiring when she was 80 years old. Mary was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. She was a hard worker who loved taking care of her home and decorating for the holidays. Born in Bridgeport, PA on August 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Henry J. and Philomena (Tancredi) Phillips. She was the wife of the late Albert L. DeGenova, who died in 1992. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Anna M. Recktenwald and her husband, Mark, of Phoenixville, PA; a grandson, Karl Recktenwald; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Francis, Anthony, Henry and Joseph Phillips; and a sister, Rita Phillips. Mary’s Prayer Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 10 to 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
