Mary Ellen Mack

Mary Ellen Boyer Mack, known lovingly as MEM, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026. She was 64 years old.

Born on August 23, 1961, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mary Ellen was the daughter of the late Gerald Boyer, Sr. and the late Anne McElwee Boyer. She grew up surrounded by a close-knit family where love and devotion to family was paramount. Perhaps nowhere was this devotion more evident than in her relationship with her parents.

Mary Ellen was an avid reader who loved getting lost in the pages of a good book; however, the beach was where she found her true peace and joy. It was her place of refuge, a setting that suited her perfectly and where her heart felt most at home.

A woman of faith, Mary Ellen was a proud member of Resurrection of our Lord Parish in Philadelphia for over 50 years. That parish was not just her church; it was a cornerstone of her life and her community.

Mary Ellen is survived by her three daughters, Ellen Quinn (David), Michelle Ruggia (Dominick), and Meg Kostic (Jeff); her brothers, Gerald Boyer, Jr. (Evelyn), Thomas Boyer (Reed Apaghian), and James Boyer (Kathleen); and her sister, Anne Scoff (Barry) in addition to many nieces, nephews and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Eileen Fallon (Robert).

A private funeral service for immediate family will be held at Resurrection of Our Lord Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Monday, April 6, 2026.
