Mary E. McGovern Fox, age 93, of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, formerly of East Norriton and Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, at The Pinnacle at Plymouth Meeting.
Born in Philadelphia on June 21, 1933, Mary was the daughter of the late Patrick and Nora (née Geraghty) Mangan. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Francis X. McGovern and Gerald P. Fox; her three sons, Francis McGovern, Joseph McGovern, and Michael McGovern; her grandson, Ryan McGovern and her son-in-law Joseph Durkin.

Mary was a loving and devoted mother whose greatest joy was her family. Above all else, she was immensely proud of the family she raised and the values of faith, kindness, compassion, and unconditional love that she instilled in each generation. She found her greatest happiness in caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had an extraordinary gift with babies and an uncanny ability to comfort even the fussiest infant.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Mary was a devoted Catholic who often attended Mass daily. Throughout life's joys and sorrows, Mary's unwavering faith and love for her family remained her guiding strength.
Mary treasured her trips to the shore, especially Cape May, where she loved spending peaceful days on the beach with a good book in hand. She also looked forward to Friday lunches with her dear friends, enjoying the laughter, conversation, and friendships they shared.
She created countless family traditions like her Halloween parties and Easter egg hunts that were legendary, bringing together family for days filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Christmas Eve celebrations were the heart of the holiday season, a treasured tradition that brought her family together year after year.
Mary will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the love she gave so freely to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories and a family forever shaped by her unconditional love.
