Mary T. (Valerio) Gennett

Mary T. (Valerio) Gennett passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, at the Regina Nursing Center in Norristown, PA. She was 93. Mrs. Gennett was a resident of Norristown, PA and was formerly of Bridgeport, PA and Trooper, PA. She worked as a lab technician for Philco Ford in Lansdale, PA, retiring in 1975, worked part time for the Colonial School District, and also volunteered as a foster grandmother. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA. She graduated from the former Bridgeport High School, Class of 1939. Born in Bridgeport, PA on October 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Malvina (Lammando) Valerio. She was the wife of the late Stacy Gennett, who died in 1980. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Bonnie Ann Tornetta of Mont Clare, PA; two step-daughters, Edna Schneider and her husband, Ralph, of Illinois and Pauline Morris and her husband, Kenny, of Florida; two grandchildren, Mark and Jay Tornetta; four step-grandchildren: Joshua and Jeremy Morris, Noel Ponder and Stacey Schneider; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Valerio and his wife, Angie, of Blue Bell, PA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia M. O'Neill of E. Norriton, PA; three brothers: Anthony, Charles and Nicholas; a sister, Florence Valerio; and a step-daughter, Joan McKendry. Relatives & friends are invited to Mary's Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 10:00 am. Her viewings will be Sunday evening from 6 to 8pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405; also Monday morning from 9 to 9:50 am, at the church. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to the Regina Nursing Center, 550 E.
