Mary Patricia (Mcdevitt) Carroll

Mary Patricia (McDevitt) Carroll, on Sunday, December 2, 2018, of Brandywine Senior Living, Upper Providence, former resident of Shannondell, Audubon, as well as Upper Merion and Blue Bell, PA. Former member of Mother of Divine Providence Parish in King of Prussia, where she was the organist for over 18 years, and very active with church events. She had a passion for music, her gardens and her ever growing family. Born in Reading, PA on June 5, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William and Anna (Henke) McDevitt. She was the loving wife of John J. Carroll, Sr., who preceded her in 2013. Surviving is her loving family including 4 sons: John J. Carroll, Jr and his wife, Mary Jo of W. Berlin, NJ, Edward Carroll and his wife, Jan of Quakertown, PA, Richard Carroll and his wife, Janet of Kansas City, MO and Joseph Carroll and his wife, Nancy of Upper Providence, PA; 5 daughters: Patricia Carroll of Malvern, PA, Rita Koch and her husband, Michael of Honey Brook, PA, Eileen Ritter and her husband, Rich of King of Prussia, PA, Margaret Corropolese and her husband, Jacob of Worcester, PA, and Loretta Oustrich and her husband, Jay of Phoenixville, PA; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Surviving is also a brother-in-law, Arthur W. Carroll of Princeton, NJ, as well as many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers: The Rev. Charles McDevitt, Bernard (Anne), William (Emily), Anthony (Mary), George (Peg), Leonard (Bridget) and the Rev. Francis (Joan); and 2 sisters, Sr. Marian, IHM and Sr. Ildephonse Mary, IHM. Relatives & friends are invited to Mary’s Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10:30am. Viewings Wednesday 6 to 8pm at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA., and also Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 am, at the church. Interment Calvary Cemetery, W. Conshohocken, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory Mother of Divine Providence Church Organ Fund, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 and/or the Sisters of IHM, Camilla Hall Nursing Home, 1145 King Rd., Malvern, PA 19345.
