Mary (Valerio) Santucci

Mary (Valerio) Santucci passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1, 2015. She was 103 years old. Mary was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, PA, with a recent move to the home of her daughter, Antonia (Santucci) Blaisse and son-in-law, Lawrence Blaisse. Mary was the daughter of the late Fredrica and Michael Valerio. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Santucci and brothers, Pasquale and A. Charles Valerio. Surviving are three loving granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law: Valerie (Blaisse) Katein and William Katein; Deborah Blaisse and Tressa (Blaisse) Lacy and Richard Lacy, Jr.; five caring great-grandchildren: Sarah Katein, Rachel Katein, Brittany Lacy, Gabrielle Lacy and Jared Katein.Mary was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, where she served as a delegate on the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and various other church events. Mary took great pride in sharing her love of family traditions and home cooked meals. These are the traditions that she has blessed us with and that our family will continue. We will always cherish our weekly Sunday dinners with her homemade gravy and meatballs. Mary tended to her garden for many years that included an assortment of many vegetables and tomatoes. We will be forever warm by her countless crocheted blankets. Mary will be eternally loved and remembered in our hearts as the matriarch of our family.Relatives and friends are invited to Mary's Funeral Mass at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Worship Site, 520 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 10:00 am. Her viewing is Saturday from 9 to 9:50 am, at the worship site. Interment will follow Mass at St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.
