Mary C. (Martino) Smith passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Genesis Health Care in Quakertown, PA, also known as the Quakertown Center Skilled Nursing, where she resided due to her illness. She was 88. She was a member of Visitation B.V.M. Church in Trooper, PA. Mrs. Smith married her husband, Thomas E. Smith on September 28, 1947, and they were married for 49 years living in Worcester, PA for 46 years. Thomas E. Smith passed away in 1996.Born in Bridgeport, PA on October 29, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Martina (Malgieri) Martino. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, JoAnn Gallagher and her husband, James, of Souderton, PA; 2 granddaughters, Heather Gallagher and her fiancé, Dan Walker and his son, Dylan, and Kathryn Garges; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Kier; a brother, Dominic Martino and his wife, Philomena, of Norristown, PA; a sister-in-law, Ann Martino of Blue Bell, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers: Joseph, William, Anthony, Michael and Ralph; and a sister, Angeline Frangiosa. Relatives & friends are invited to Mary's Funeral Mass at Visitation B.V.M. Church (Upper Church), 196 N. Trooper Rd., Trooper, PA on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 10:00 am. Her viewing will be Monday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. Entombment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery Mausoleum, E. Norriton, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's memory to Visitation B.V.M. Church, 196 N.
