Maryanna O'Gara

Maryanna O'Gara, (nee McGuirk) 84, of Ambler, and formerly of Jenkintown PA passed away Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, peacefully, at 501 at Mattison Estate. Maryanna was born in Philadelphia, on August 21, 1939, the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Joseph McGuirk. She was the widow of Martin J. O’Gara and were married for 56 years before he preceded her in 2017.

Throughout her life, Maryanne dedicated herself to her family, raising six children with unwavering love and support. Her children were her pride and joy, and she instilled in them the values of kindness, generosity, and resilience.

In addition to her children Maryana was blessed with 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her joy knew no bounds as she watched her family grow and flourish. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories and imparting her wisdom to each of them.

A selfless individual, Maryanna devoted over 30 years of her life to volunteering at Immaculate Conception School and Church. She shared her unwavering faith and commitment to her community by actively engaging in various church activities and events. Her dedication and service were deeply appreciated by all those who crossed paths with her.

After her children had grown, she continued to contribute to her community by working at Breslin's consignment store. Her warm and friendly nature made her a beloved member of the store, and she formed countless friendships with both colleagues and customers.

In addition to her warm smile, Maryanna was known for her ability to connect with people and make lifelong friends wherever she went. Her welcoming personality and genuine interest in others' lives touched the hearts of many. She valued human connection deeply and was always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.

As a faithful parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Jenkintown, PA, Maryanna found solace and strength in her faith. She actively participated in church activities and served as an inspiration to others through her unwavering devotion.

Maryanna is survived by 6 children: Michael O’Gara, Bethanne (Anthony) Dippolito, Joseph (Lynn) O’Gara, Timothy (Sara) O’Gara, Maryanne (Andrew) Brenner and Terrence (Stefanie) O’Gara. Maryanne is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Courtney (Jalen) Berning, Brianna, Kelsey, Taylor, Connor, Jason, Ryan, Sean, Erik, Peter, Meghan, Skylar, Mallory, Luke, Shealyn, Brent, and 1 great grandchild Sloane and preceded in death by 2 grandchildren: Halley O’Gara and Shane Ziegler. Maryanna also leaves behind her sister Elizabeth (Mickey) McGuirk Brady who preceded her in death in 2019 and sister-in-law Ellen (James) Conway.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Church, 602 West Ave, Jenkintown, PA. Visitation time from 9-10:20 AM and her funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Her interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
