Matthew R. Eckman

Matthew R. “Matt” Eckman passed away suddenly at his home in Huntsville, AL on Saturday, March 12, 2016. He was 24 years old. He was a graduate of Upper Merion High School in 2010, where he rowed on the Upper Merion Crew Team and was captain his senior year. Following graduation, he enrolled and graduated in 2014 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. After receiving a BS in Aerospace Engineering he relocated to Huntsville to work for Boeing. Aside from his career, he loved to play Rugby on Huntsville’s Rugby Team, enjoyed crafting and tasting homemade beer, fell in love with the South and made it his mission to make people laugh. Above all, he was devoted to each and every person who he considered his family. Born in Norristown, PA on September 20, 1991, he was a son of Wayne and Connie (Marinaccio) Eckman of King of Prussia, PA. Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother, John G. Eckman of King of Prussia; his grandfather, Nicola Marinaccio of King of Prussia; an uncle, Anthony Marinaccio; two aunts, Sandy (Tony) DiSanto and Debbie Eckman; two cousins, Anthony DiSanto and Michael DiSanto; and many other loving family members. Matt is also survived by his girlfriend, Katherine Silliman, who he cared for deeply. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Margaret M. (Evelyn) Eckman, and Maria (Ciaglia) Marinaccio. Matt’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Road in King of Prussia, PA on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:30 am. Officiating will be Father Martin T. Cioppi. The family will receive relatives & friends on Friday evening, March 18, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 and also Saturday morning from 9 to 10:20 am, at the church.
