Matthew Ryan Mccormick

Matthew R. McCormick, known to his friends as “Cormick”, was born on June 8, 1984 and passed away on June 26, 2015, at the age of 31. Matthew graduated from Newark High School in 2002 and attended the University of Delaware and Delaware Technical and Community College. At Newark he participated in soccer, band, and track (cross country, indoor and outdoor track). After high school he studied business and Early Childhood Education He is survived by his parents, Robert and Susan, his sister Kristen Kunicki (Robert), brothers, Steven and Ryan, and his grandmother, June Fitzgerald.  He was a loyal and enthusiastic uncle to Tyler Kunicki (8), Matthew Kunicki (5), and Benjamin Kunicki (6 mos).  Matthew was preceded in death by his brother, Michael and grandparents Blaine Fitzgerald and Robert McCormick, Sr. and Nancy Cooch McCormick. Services are private.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Faithful Friends Animal Society, or the Latin American Community Center, Early Development Center would be appreciated. Private service.
