Merle Richard Freitag

Merle Richard Freitag passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, surrounded by his family at Woodbridge Assisted Living in Phoenixville, PA. He was 93. Mr. Freitag was a former resident of Sun City, Arizona. He worked as an insurance executive for Physicians Mutual. Merle received a Bachelors of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He served as a US Marine. Merle was a deeply spiritual man who freely shared his faith and helped many through their life’s trials. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His wisdom, compassion and humor will be missed by his family and all who were blessed to know him. Most important to him was the 72 year love affair with his beloved wife, Arlene Joy (his joy). Born in Dorchester, Nebraska on July 20, 1927, he was a son of the late Arthur and Laura (Moser) Freitag. Surviving is his loving family including his wife, Arlene Joy (Munter) Freitag; two son, Kenneth Freitag and his wife, Carol Erickson and Steven Freitag and his wife, Vienna; and two grandchildren, Bryan Freitag and Lindsey Freitag.
