Michael David Lattanze passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at his residence in Pottstown, PA. He was 68 years old. Prior to living in Pottstown, Michael was born and raised in Bridgeport, PA. He graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School and attended Spring Garden College. Michael began his career as a Deputy Sheriff for Montgomery County. During that time, he attended the Police Academy and upon graduation landed a job in February of 1984 as a Police Officer with Bridgeport Borough, where he served for 25 years until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the FOP Lodge 14. After he retired from the police force, Michael continued to work, owning and operating Bridgeport Auto for about 10 years, where he was able to live out his dream of working on cars.
Born in Norristown, PA on June 1, 1956, he was a son of the late John H. and Theresa P. (Mashintonio) Lattanze, Sr.
Surviving is his loving family including his daughter, Jennifer Kirkpatrick (Tom); two sons, Michael D. Lattanze, Jr. and Jason Lattanze (Kim); his brother, John H. Lattanze, Jr. (Lauren); 7 grandchildren, Brianna, Aubrey, Brigid, Luke, Lily, Bowan, and Brett; two nieces, Maria and Sarah; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Michael’s family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 9am to 10:30am, with his prayer service beginning at 10:30am. Inurnment will be in St. Matthew Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA.
