Michael Patrick Haney

Michael Patrick Haney was suddenly taken to Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the age of 68. Mr. Haney was a resident of Gilbertsville, PA. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, traveling and spending time at his beach home. Michael was remarkably handy and sincerely enjoyed helping anyone in need. He truly treasured his wife, children and grandchildren. Michael was full of life and his wit will be missed by all.   Michael was a four year US Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era.   Born in New London, Connecticut on October 8, 1946, he was a son of the late Bernard and Norma (Roche) Haney. Growing up mostly in Norristown, PA, he graduated from the former Bishop Kenrick High School in 1964. He worked as the Pennsylvania Turnpike maintenance director until his retirement.   Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 44 years, Mary Ann (Rogers) Haney; his three sons: Sean (Louise) Haney of Collegeville, PA, Brendan Haney of Norristown, PA and Patrick (Kelly) Haney of Collingswood, NJ; five adored grandchildren: Tori Ann, Sarah, Declan, Annabella and Priscilla Haney; a brother, Timothy (Mary Nell) Haney of North Wales, PA; a sister-in-law, Marcy Haney of Marlton, NJ; and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Haney.   Michael’s Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Augustine Worship Site, 464 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 11:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 9 to 10:50 am, at the worship site. Inurnment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia, PA.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road, Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
