Mildred (Mateer) Dolan

Mildred (Mateer) Dolan of Audubon, PA, and a longtime resident of Upper Merion, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at The Meadows at Shannondell. She was 90. Mildred was the beloved wife of 68 years to Calvin M. Dolan, Sr. Born on Sept. 5, 1925 in Whitinsville, MA, Mildred was the only child of the late Hugh and Agnes (Burton) Mateer. She was first-generation American in her family. Mildred was a 1947 graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, ME and a retired English teacher at Methacton High School. She loved reading, doing crossword puzzles with her husband and traveling, especially to Avalon, NJ. In addition to her husband, Mildred is survived by her loving family: her children, Mark Dolan (Linda), Eric Bruce Dolan (Karen), Martha McGlinchey (Terence) and Janet Bowes (Peter); grandchildren: Mara, Jennifer, Brian, Ellen, Colleen, Bridget, Colby and Amelia; and great-grandchildren: Perico, Samantha, Collin and Rufus. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Calvin Dolan, Jr. in 2013. Funeral services will be held privately.
