Mildred E. Michener, formerly of Audubon, died on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, where she had been a resident for the last thirteen and a half years. Born on June 20, 1919 in Bridgeport, PA, she was the third of four children born to the late John H. Michener, Sr. and Lidie (Allen) Michener. Mildred was their only daughter.She was a member of Bridgeport Baptist Church, which later became Upper Merion Baptist Church. She was an active member and leader of her church circle for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mildred was an avid knitter and was honored with the Community Outreach Award in 1994 by the Philadelphia Baptist Association for her many contributions.Mildred graduated from the former Bridgeport High School. She worked at the Dettra Flag Company in Oaks, PA for many years. Following that she worked as a payroll supervisor at the Philadelphia Bulletin until her retirement. Mildred was predeceased by three brothers: John, Howard and Robert. Surviving are three nieces and two nephews.Relatives and friends are invited to her Graveside Service at Norris City Cemetery, Stanbridge St. & Norris City Ave., East Norriton, PA on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mildred's memory to Elm Terrace Gardens, 660 N.
