Monica D. Gear

Monica D. (Desimone) Gear, age 84, loving wife, mother and mom mom, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021 at her daughters home in Ohio. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Gear, who died on July 30, 2000. Born in Norristown, PA on February 6, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Lovas) Desimone. Monica attended Our Mother of Sorrows Elementary School and graduated from Upper Merion High School, Class of 1954. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the former St. Augustine Parish. Earlier in her life, Monica worked at the former Continental Bank before getting married and raising a family. She enjoyed puzzles, baking, watching sports, going to Lancaster to Shady Maple, and time spent with her family. Monica is survived by 4 daughters: Sandra (Michael) DeNaro, Maryann (Jennifer) Gear, Karen (Geoff) Zachau, and Jennifer (James) Ross; 3 sons: Michael (Angela) Gear, George Gear and Edwin Gear; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joann DeMino. Funeral services and interment will be private at the request of the family.
