Ottavio J. "Tavio" D'Angelis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 29, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at the Sanatoga Center in Pottstown, PA. He was 94. Mr. D'Angelis was a resident of Phoenixville, PA. He worked as a painter for the US Marine Corps. Mr. D'Angelis was a US Army veteran of WW II, serving from 1943 to 1945 in the European Theatre of Operations. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 12, 1917, he was a son of the late Carlo B. and Filomena (Notte) D'Angelis. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 70 years, Elvira R. "Whitie" (Boselli) D'Angelis; two sons, Ottavio C. "Otto" D'Angelis and his wife, Susan of Quakertown, PA and Raymond F. D'Angelis and his wife, Becky of Lancaster, PA; four daughters, Anita M. Bearoff and her husband, Tony of Gulph Mills, PA, Carla R. Cohen and her husband, Ronnie of Jim Thorpe, PA, Linda J. Remer and her husband, Richard of King of Prussia, PA and Gina L. Schmidt and her husband, Eric of Upper Providence, PA; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; a brother, George C. D'Angelis and his wife, Helen of Philadelphia, PA; many nephews and nieces; and a daughter-in-law, Donna (Rovello) D'Angelis.Tavio was preceded in death by a son, George T. D'Angelis, and a sister, Mary DeSimone. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at SS. Simon and Jude Church, 8 Cavanaugh Court, West Chester, PA 19382 on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00am. His viewing will be Saturday morning from 10 to 10:50am, at the church. Interment in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer, PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tavio's memory to the WW II Veterans Memorial, American Battle Monuments and Commissions, P.O.
