Pasquale Carfagno

Pasquale Carfagno passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Brightview Assisted Living in E. Norriton, Pa. He was 90. Mr. Carfagno resided in Norristown, Pa. He worked as an electrician for the former Bethlehem Steel (McCoy Quarry) in Upper Merion Twp., Pa. He also worked as a custodian for the Upper Merion Area School District. Pasquale was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Norristown, PA, and graduated from the former Bridgeport High School Class of 1938. Mr. Carfagno was a US Navy Veteran of WW II, serving from 1942 to 1946 in the Pacific theater of operations. Born on February 7, 1920 in Bridgeport, PA, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Mary (Centanni) Carfagno. He was the husband of the late Grace (Keyser) Carfagno, who died in 1993. Surviving is his loving family including his sister, Carmela Rubert of Jeffersonville, PA; a granddaughter, Cathie Dyer and her husband, Steve; two great- grandchildren, Stephanie and Coy Dyer, all of Franklinville, NJ; two nephews, Ralph Rubert and his wife, Debbie of Greenlane, PA and Robert Gounley and his wife, Paula of Pasadena, CA; and two great-nieces, Ashley and Kayla Rubert. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 600 Hamilton St. Norristown, PA 19401 on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 10:00am. Officiating is the Rev. Vincent E. Welsh, Pastor. Interment in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA. Friends may call Thursday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pasquale's memory to Horizons Hospice, 715 Twining Rd., Suite 217, Dresher, PA 19025.
