Patricia M Mcguirl

Patricia M. McGuirl (McDonough) age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her nursing home on Sunday July 20, 2025.

Born on April 30, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, Patricia was the daughter of the late Anne Josephine (Clime) and Joseph Thomas McDonough.

Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Michael L. McGuirl. Patricia is also survived by her two children: Tara A. McGuirl and Matthew L. McGuirl (Margaret R. Hermann) and two grandchildren: Katherine V. McGuirl and Finley A. McGuirl.

Patricia was a 1957 graduate of Holy Child Academy in Sharon Hill, PA. From there she studied nursing at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Darby, PA and earned her RN. She worked in nursing for over 40 years; starting in Emergency Department and other hospital settings. For more than 25 years she worked in the medical department at St. Gabriel’s Hall in Audubon, PA. In time, she became the head nurse and ran the department for more than 15 years. No matter the setting, she was a dynamic force for good and had a profound impact on her patients, their families, and her coworkers.

Patricia was an avid gardener, voracious reader, and lover of dogs. She loved spending summer days at the McGuirl family summer home on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Family and friends are invited to attend Patricia’s visitation from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM on Thursday August 14, 2025, at Visitation BVM Church located at 196 N. Trooper Rd. Eagleville, PA. 19403. Patricia’s Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA will be private.
