Patricia Thornton Millar

Patricia Thornton Millar December 27, 1930 - December 31, 2020 Patricia T Millar, 90, was called home to the Lord on December 31st, 2020. Born on December 27th, 1930, Pat was the daughter of John Thornton and Esther Roeller Thornton. Pat’s life was spent in service and caring for others. She fostered many babies, caring for them until they found new homes. Pat spent 15 years volunteering in the maternity ward at Sacred Heart Hospital, and at Woodland Elementary School where she loved to read to the young students. Pat was a published poet both here in the US and also in Ireland. Along with her passion for poetry and literature, Pat was an ardent bird watcher who loved animals of all kinds and had a deep appreciation for all that nature provides. She spent her later years as a founding member of Shannondell, enjoying life surrounded by her treasured friends, and participating in reading, writing, and art groups. Pat was a member at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Audubon Pennsylvania. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brother (John F Thornton), son (David Jonathan Millar), and her loving husband David Millar. Pat is survived by her three children, Mark Ian Millar (Susan Schmidt Millar), Michael Thornton Millar (Mary Geib Millar), and Diane Millar Jeffers. Pat was a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren, Pamela Millar Craig (Ryan Craig), David Millar (Kellie Egan), Shelley Millar Leonard (Brian Leonard), and her two great grandchildren Eloise Grace Leonard and Samuel Harrison Leonard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Montgomery County SPCA in Pat’s name - Montgomery County SPCA 19 E. Ridge Pike Box 222 Conshohocken, PA 19428-0222 Memorial services will be held at a later time when it will be safe for all to celebrate a life well lived!
