Patricia A. Moran (nee Conley) died peacefully at home on February 19, 2022. Pat had been a resident of Amityplace in Douglassville for the last 3 years, where she was well known and loved by many. Patricia was born on October 31, 1930 in Bridgeport, PA to Leo Sr. and Anastasia (Tarlecki). Patricia was preceded in death by her brother Leo Jr. and her husband, James F. Moran. Patricia is survived by her “sister” cousin Malvina Augustine, by her two sons Christopher Moran (Ann Hunter) and Timothy Moran (Susan), daughter Dianne McDevitt (Christopher), her grandchildren Danielle Veverka (Caitlin), Nicholas Licwinko, Sean Moran, Stephanie Licwinko (Damon Erb), Macy Deimler (Tony), Olivia Licwinko (Brandon Ormsby), Timothy Moran Jr., and Dalton Moran, her great-grandchildren Audrina, Nikolai, Anastasia, August James, Icarus, and baby Oakley (due in May). Family and faith were Pat’s constants throughout her long life. Pat spoke often of St. Augustine’s grade school and West Catholic Girls High School, where she played the trumpet in the band (something she was very proud of). Pat was an active member of the Adoptive Mothers Club and Visitation Women’s Guild. Pat could often be found in Visitation’s Adoration Chapel praying the rosary while volunteering for Holy Hour. Pat worked as both a secretary and later the switchboard operator for Norristown Area School District, she was the first smiling face you would see upon entering the administration building. Pat had a passion for organizing and throwing parties, she loved writing lists of all kinds, enjoyed traveling, and loved the beach. Pat’s love of music was a very big part of her life, she especially loved listening to Barry Manilow and Frank Sinatra. Pat had a way of making everyone feel special, important, heard and understood. Sassy was often the adjective used to describe Pat in her later years, she had a sharp wit and she considered herself the life of the party-those who knew her wouldn’t argue that. Pat was a caregiver by nature, caring for her older brother after his diagnosis of MS, her own mother who had Alzheimer’s, helping her children raise their families, always lending a helping hand, offering a shoulder (not the “bad” one!) to cry on, sharing her home with multiple family members throughout the years and often giving kind and fair advice to those around her. Pat was a Scrabble champion, easily scoring 35 and up on a single play. Pat enjoyed her Word Search books up until the end. Potato chips must be mentioned in this obituary, she LOVED ‘em- we all eat our ice cream with potato chips on top thanks to Pat. There’s honestly not enough words to describe Pat’s unconditional, unwavering adoration of her children, grandchildren and great-grands. We were the greatest loves of her life and we all knew it, the debate of who her favorite is will absolutely be continued. We will miss Pat’s smile, her kind eyes, that little head tilt when looking at someone she loved, her sense of humor, and her love of life and living it to the fullest. Please consider sending a donation in Pat’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers. Services will be held on Monday, February 28th at Visitation B.V.M. (upper church). Viewing from 9:45am-10:45am. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am, masks are optional. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery.
