Patricia Stevenson Rittenhouse of Lansdale, aged 95, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Elm Terrace Gardens. She is preceded in death by her husband, B.F. “Bud” Rittenhouse
Patrica was born on December 22, 1929, in Camden, NJ to the late Joseph R. and Ruth (nee Hackenberger) Stevenson. She was a graduate of Haddon Heights High School, Haddon Heights, NJ, and Beaver College (Arcadia University) Class of 1951. After graduating, Patrica started her long career in education as a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Bridgeport High School. She then became a teacher at Woodland Elementary School, Methacton School District where she taught until her retirement in 1993.
Patrica was an active member of the many communities she belonged to. As a member of Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, she served as an Adult Sunday School Teacher, a former chairman of the LCDR Richard Minnich Scholarship Committee, and a cook for Golden Age and Men’s Palm Sunday Breakfasts. She was a Co-founder and past president of Norristown Beaver College Alumni Club, former leader and Life Member of Girl Scouts of America, a life member of NEA & PSEA, and a member of PA School Retirees Assoc. At Elm Terrace Gardens, she held a position on the Residents board, was editor of the Elm Terrace Newsletter and served in many volunteer positions.
Patricia is survived by 4 children, Benjamin F. Rittenhouse IV (Linda) of Arcola, C. Lyn Rose (Russell) of Klingerstown, Pa, Susan J. Barker (Philip) of Upper Providence, and David S. Rittenhouse (Jackie) of Lower Providence; 10 grandchildren, Rudy Wilhelm, Rachel Wilhelm, Jesse Rose, Steven Rose, Stacy Pokorski, Tiffany Cook, Joseph Rittenhouse, Kelly Labor, Sandy Rittenhouse, and Chrissy Rittenhouse; 9 great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Rudy, Kalina, Adeline, Ryder, AJ, Gabriel, Benjamin V, and Nora.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Lower Providence Presbyterian Church, 3050 Ridge Pike, Eagleville, Pa 19403. Family will receive friends from 5:00to 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Patricia’s memory may be made to LCDR Richard Minnich Scholarship Fund, 3050 W. Ridge Pike, Eagleville, Pa 19403. Please make checks payable to Lower Providence Presbyterian Church.
