Patricia J. Scott

August 3, 1933 — December 31, 2020

Patricia J. Scott (age 87) - wife, mother, grandmother, friend - left this life on December 31, 2020. Pat was born and raised in New York City by Edward and Winifred Brophy. While working at S. H. Kress, she met Thomas Scott who would be the love of her life. They married in 1958 and raised 8 children. Pat earned an education degree from Hunter College and worked as a schoolteacher until becoming a mother. Though she left the classroom, she never stopped teaching and role modeling. Her kindness and concern for others enriched all who came into contact with her. While in New York, she was an active member of St. Anastasia RC Church and the community. In Blue Bell, she was a member of St. Helena parish. Pat and Tom enjoyed dancing with Rosemary Timoney’s Irish dancing group, attending the theater, and traveling with family and friends through the US and Europe. For the last two years, Pat has lived in the Spring House community where she was a hospice volunteer and a wing leader. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Tom, parents, sisters Lorraine and Eileen, and brothers Edward and Thomas. She is survived by her sister Sheila (Jerry) and brother Maurice (Jackie); children: Michael (Sue), Patricia, Sheila (Bob), Thomas (Delores), Brian, Stephen (Jacqueline), Robert (Bernadette) and Edward (Kristin); and grandchildren: Ian, Brittany, Liam, Victor (Rita), Brian (Chelsea), Nicole (Tyler), Jordan, Taylor, Bailey, Ryan, Christopher, Evan and Ciaran; as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Arrangements for Patricia J. Scott will be handled by Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home in Trooper, PA. Because of Pat’s concerns for the health of her family and friends in light of the current pandemic, there will not be a viewing, and attendance at the burial ceremony will be limited to immediate family. Burial will be at St. John Neuman Cemetery in Chalfont, PA. The graveside service will be streamed on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pat was an avid reader who loved her local public library. In lieu of flowers, Pat and her family ask that donations be made to the Wissahickon Valley Public Libraries ( https://www.wvpl.org/donate ) or a charity of your choice. Pat’s final request to everyone: Please be safe. To view the live stream and pay condolences, visit obituary at www.meyersfh.com
