Paul E. “Fatboy” Knauer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He was 73. Mr. Knauer was a resident of King of Prussia, PA. He was a graduate of Methacton High School. Paul worked as a Design Engineer for the FMC Corporation. He was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Bridgeport, the Holy Saviour Club and the Valley Forge Weighting Club. Paul was a world champion weightlifter and was the super heavy weight world record holder for the hip lift, lifting a total of 1800 pounds. He loved his Austin Healey sportscar and a cold glass of Coca-Cola. Paul adored his grandkids who called him Popsie. He was a veteran of the US Army Reserves. Born in Norristown, PA on January 5, 1948, he was a son of the late Marvin J. “Ike” Knauer Jr. and Ruth E. (Rutter) Knauer. Surviving is his loving family including his wife, Winifred “Winnie” (Moser) Knauer; daughter, Paula Kirk and her husband, Michael; three grandchildren: Michael Jr., Jacob and Nathan Kirk; sister, Marlene R. Knauer; and many other loving family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, P.O.
