Peggy T. Stokes

April 22, 1925 — July 16, 2013

Peggy Stokes Peggy T. Stokes age 88, of Jeffersonville passed away peacefully at her home on July 16, 2013.  Peggy was born in Norristown to the late John H. and Caroline (Pillmier) Taglieber.  Her beloved husband of 53 years, George A. Stokes passed away in 2001.  She was a graduate of Norristown High School class of 1943.  She was a longtime volunteer of Visitation BVM Church serving on the Women’s Guild and assisting at the parish rectory.  She also worked in the guidance office at Bishop Kenrick High School.  She enjoyed arts and crafts and spending summers at Long Beach Island, NJ. Peggy is survived by five children, Janet L. Malonoski of Norristown, Nancy J. Birnbrauer (Robert) of Lansdale, George A. Stokes Jr. (Helen) of Norristown, Patricia S. Duffy (Peter) of Glenmoore and Peggy S. Weirich (Steven) of Schwenksville; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Taglieber of Phoenixville and Ruth Stokes of Harleysville;  and many nieces and nephews. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to: Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home Condolences may be made by visiting www.meyersfh.com   Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:30 A.M. to 10:50 A.M.  Saturday, July 20st at Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd. Norristown, PA followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m  In lieu of flowers contributions in Peggy’s name may be made to Heartland Hospice, 460 Norristown Rd., Suite 101 Blue Bell, PA 19422.
