Peter P. Piccarreta

Peter P. Piccarreta passed away peacefully at his home in Douglassville, PA on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Peter was a resident of Douglassville for 20 years and a former resident of Bridgeport, PA, where he was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He was born and raised in Wilkes-Barre, PA and graduated from GAR High School, where he was a star running back in football and state wrestling champion. He also excelled in track and field but wrestling was his passion and came natural to him. His high school days that drove him to become such a high level wrestler was a glimpse of the person he was his entire life. Peter was the owner and operator of Pete-Za-Rama Pizza Shop in King of Prussia for many years. He was a pizza man but later in life reinvented himself as a handyman/contractor. He was an avid Cowboys fan and loved riding his motorcycle in his younger years.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on June 4, 1938, he was a son of the late Michael and Concetta (nee De Bennidict) Piccarreta. Peter was also the loving husband of Eneide M. “Anita” (nee Del Fiacco) Piccarreta for 50 years.

In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by three sons, Peter Piccarreta (Georgia), John Piccarreta (Marybeth), and Michael Piccarreta; four daughters, Madalyn Summa (Christopher), Ann Anderson (Craig), Lise Sykes (Rob), and Nicole Piccarreta; 20 grandchildren: Michelle, Anthony, Jonathan, Gabrielle, Miranda, Damien, Mark, Matt, Megan, Brooke, Jenna, Tyler, Nathan, Joshua, Maiya, Max, Elliott, Amaris, Julius, and Isabella; two sisters, Concetta “Dolly” and Louise; 10 great grandchildren; as well as many extended family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Piccarreta; his son, Mark Piccarreta; his grandson, Peter; and 9 siblings: Filomenia “Mae”, Salvino “Sam”, Cataldo “Tally”, Rose, Josephine, Michael, Michael A., John, and Richard.

The family will receive relatives and friends at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, 805 DeKalb St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10am to 12pm. His memorial service will begin at 12pm.

Inurnment and graveside service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 1:30pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1594 S. Main St. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18706.
