Philip A. 'Sho-Sho' Giangiulio

Philip A. "Sho-Sho" Giangiulio passed away peacefully on January 17, 2009 at Mercy Suburban Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 83. Mr. Giangiulio resided in Eagleville, PA for the past 53 years and was formerly of Bridgeport, PA. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer for DuPont Corporation and was a member of Visitation BVM Church in Trooper for the past 52 years and a choir member. Philip graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School where he was in the marching band. He was a former member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport and their Holy Name Society and choir. He was a member of the Norristown Chorale and a man of Malvern for over 50 years. He was an avid gardener both of flowers and vegetables, loved Classical & Sacred Music and enjoyed playing the harmonica, mandolin and accordion. Sho-Sho was named "Choir Director" at Blue Bell Place where he lived the last year of his life. He enjoyed making memories with his nine wonderful grandchildren. Mr. Giangiulio was US Army Veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater of Operations. Born on September 21, 1925 in Palombaro, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of the late Filippo and Josephine Giangiulio. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 53 years, Mary T. (Tomasello) Giangiulio; a son, Philip J. Giangiulio and his wife, Beth of Chester Springs, PA; two daughters, Anne E. Kantz and her husband, Stephen of Mont Clair, VA and Barbara G. Saunders and her husband, Michael of E. Norriton, PA; nine grandchildren: Lt. Stephen, US Navy, Captain Greg, USAF (Jenn Greg's wife), Shara, Christian Kantz, Lisa, Chrissy, Philip Giangiulio, Michael and Mary Saunders; two sisters, Angie DeLuca of Bridgeport, PA and Teresa Nicolo of Collegeville, PA; and many nephews and nieces.Relatives and friends are invited to Philip's Funeral Mass at Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Trooper, PA 19403 on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 12:00 noon. His viewing will be on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:50am, at the church. Interment will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, E. Norriton, PA.
