Philip (Phil) Anthony Schorn grew up in Elkins Park, PA and graduated Bishop McDevitt High School. He served in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army in the Vietnam War. When he returned from the war, Phil attended RCA Institute and began a 30-year career as a computer technician. Phil was a loyal Philadelphia sports fan who never missed a chance to talk about the Eagles to anyone who would listen. He was also a sportsman himself, playing softball and darts along with being an avid fisherman and hunter. Phil was very knowledgeable about history and would never miss an episode of Jeopardy. He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, where he served for many years as an usher. Phil passed away at his home in Glenside, PA on July 13, 2022. He was the beloved husband of 45 years of Ginger (nee Armstong) and devoted father of David A. (Adrienne), Philip A. (Melissa), and Elizabeth G. He was a proud grandfather of Logan, Liam, Ayla and Emerson. He was the son of the late Joseph A. and Elizabeth Hess Schorn and brother of Joseph, Edward, Gerard, Thomas, Regina Gillespie, Betsy Muessig, and James. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, July 26th from 9:30-10:45 A.M. followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. both at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 2316 Fairhill Ave. Glenside, PA 19038. Phil's Funeral Mass will be live streamed through St. Lukes website at stlukeglenside.org. Interment will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
