Phyllis M. Fairchild Welsh

October 22, 1924 — April 30, 2024

Phyllis M. (Brown) Fairchild Welsh passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2024

at Normandy Farms Estate in Blue Bell, PA. She was 99 1/2 years old. . Phyllis had

been a telephone operator during WWII and later worked at Bennardi Dental and then

Sprout Waldron, both in Muncy, Pa.. She then lived happily in Florida for over 25 years

before moving back to the Muncy area. She enjoyed watching the white tail deer,

feeding wild birds, house plants, gardening, reading, and sewing. Phyllis loved animals,

taking care of many dogs, cats, rabbits in her life. She loved watching Penn State

football and tried never to miss a game on TV. And she loved to dance.

Phyllis Mae Brown was born in Milton, PA on October 22, 1924, to the late Mary (Ryan)

and Rolland Brown. She graduated from Milton High School in 1942. Phyllis was the

wife of the late Elmer Fairchild, Jr (1920-1970) and the late Albert Welsh.

Surviving is her loving family including 2 sons, James Fairchild and his wife, Sally, from

Wayne, Pa. and Thomas Fairchild and his wife, Cindy, from Athens, Pa.and a daughter

Ann Fitch and her husband, Jeff, from Wayne, Pa. Phyllis also has 2 step-sons, Albert

Welsh and his wife, Charlotte, from Melbourne, Florida and Lynn Welsh from Allen,

Texas. Phyllis had 6 grandchildren: Abram (Christine) and Zachary (Amy) Fairchild,

Jenna (Kevin) Weiler, Scott Fitch, Jennie (Adam) Ladd, and Mary (Chad) Logsdon;

Phyllis also had many step-grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; and many

nephews and nieces and many other loving family members.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Merrill Brown and a sister-in-law, Marjorie

Fairchild Gunster.

Services and interment are private at the request of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’ memory to The

Timothy School, the oldest non-profit approved private school in Pennsylvania devoted

exclusively to teaching students with autism at. https://thetimothyschool.org/support.
