Placida "Mary" DiGenova

Placida “Mary” (Bruno) DiGenova passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at home, surrounded by family in Bridgeport, PA. She was 85 years old. Placida was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and then more recently of Sacred Heart Church, both in Bridgeport. Placida worked as a packer for the Sharp Corp. in Conshohocken, PA.

Born in Montella, Italy on March 9, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Adelina (Cavallo) Bruno. She was also the beloved wife of the late Ernesto “Ernie” DiGenova, who passed away in 2017.

Surviving is her loving family including two sons, Salvatore “Sam” DiGenova (Karen) and Ernesto “Ernie” DiGenova, Jr. (Frances); her daughter, Susanna Flocco (Tom); 7 grandchildren, Alex (Jennifer), Julia, Marissa, Mia, Matthew, Katie (Andrew), & Karlie; 1 great-grandchild. Logan. one brother, Frank Bruno (Andrea); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by a brother Donato Bruno (Gelsomina).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Placida's viewing at Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 9:30-10:15am. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30am. Entombment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery Mausoleum in E. Norriton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Placida's name to Sacred Heart Church, 120 Jefferson St. Bridgeport, PA 19405.
