Ramona Burgos

"Ramona (Rivera) Burgos passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2009, with her daughter, Lisa Ann, at her side at Parkhouse Providence Pointe in Royersford, PA. She was 85. Mrs. Burgos was previously a resident of Cape Canaveral, Florida and the Bronx, New York. She belonged to Unity Church and the Moose Club, both in Florida. Ramona was a teacher with Robert Fiance Beauty School in New York City, New York, as well as the owner/operator of the France-Lisa Beauty Salon in Long Island, New York. She loved ballroom dancing, gardening, knitting, crocheting and making all of her own clothes.Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on March 15, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Felix Rivera Santos and Julia Rivera. She was the wife of the late Ismael Burgos.Surviving are her loving family including a son, Edward Burgos and his wife, Ruth Catherine of Chula Vista, CA; two daughters, Sonia Burgos-Crannage of Garnerville, NY and Lisa A. Traxler and her husband, Mark of Collegeville, PA; 5 grandchildren: Michael Joseph, Kelly Ann, Wendy Ann, Monica Lee and Anthony Raymond; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a loving nephew, Felix Rivera of Meridan, CT. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carlos Rivera.Relatives and friends are invited to her Memorial Service at Hope Community Church, 150 East Beidler Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 2:00pm.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
