Raymond E. Forster

Raymond E. Forster passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, surrounded by his loving family at his residence in King of Prussia, PA. He was 81. Mr. Forster retired after 30 years with the former General Electric Co., as a contract manager. He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia, PA. Ray enjoyed traveling with his wife, Joan and their friends. He liked to read books, do the crossword puzzle in the paper, watch soccer and take naps. Ray especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, dance, or whatever activity they were doing that day.Mr. Forster was a US Airforce veteran of the Korean Conflict. He served from 1948 to 1952 in the 98 bomb group in Korea. Born in Philadelphia, PA on December 15, 1929, he was a son of the late Otto and Catherine (Walsh) Forster. Surviving is his loving family including his wife of 58 years, Joan M. (McLaughlin) Forster; two sons, Raymond Forster and his wife, Debra of York, PA and Mark Forster and his wife, Pam of King of Prussia, PA; two daughters, Paula Casey and her husband, Frank of Royersford, PA and Joanne Valerio and her husband, Carmen of Collegeville, PA; ten grandchildren: Patrick, Jaclyn, Steven, Frank, Colleen, Gina, Lauren, Madison, Alexandra and Samantha; three step-grandchildren: David, Alyson and Heather; two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Adeline; a sister, Margaret Delaney and her husband, Charles of Mantua, NJ; a sister-in-law, Muriel Forster of NJ; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and John; and two sisters, Kathleen Noykoff and Elizabeth Peck. Relatives & friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406 on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 11:00am. Officiating will be the Rev. Msgr. Joseph Murray. Ray's viewing will be Monday morning from 9 to 10:50am, at the church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion Twp., PA.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ray's memory to the CIDP Foundation, the Holly Bldg., 104 1/2 Forrest Ave., Narberth, PA 19072 and/or Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Rd., King of Prussia, PA 19406.
