Raymond John Wesolowski, Sr., 86, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Rivers Edge Rehabilitation Facility.
Born in Philadelphia on September 4, 1939, Raymond was the son of the late Andrew J. Sr. and Bertha J. (Lang) Wesolowski.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Louise (Osborne) Wesolowski. He was also preceded in death by his son, Raymond John Wesolowski, Jr., his brother, Andrew J. Wesolowski Jr. and his son-in-law, Phillip Vance.
Raymond was a devoted member of St. Leo the Great Church. He worked as a salesman and supervisor for Entenmann’s Bakery and was a former member of the Bass Anglers Association and the Penn Warner Fishing Club. He was an avid fisherman, an artist and wood worker. Raymond was a gifted athlete and later coached baseball for the Police Athletic League. He was a Philadelphia sports fanatic, especially his Philadelphia Eagles.
Raymond is survived by his daughters, Amy Vance and Bethanne Wesolowski; his son, Adam Wesolowski (Kathryn); his grandchildren, Kyle Abele (Bobbi Jo), Zachary Abele, Grace Vance, Hannah Wesolowski, Ben Wesolowski, and Lucy Wesolowski; and his great-grandson, Nathaniel Abele.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday, June 12th from 9:15-10:15 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM both held at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 7051 Tulip St. Phila., PA. His interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
