Reid & Miriam Beck

Reid and Miriam Beck of Abington PA, passed away January 18, 2023 at their residence.

Mr. Beck was born in Philadelphia on September 26, 1949, the son of the late Raymond and Vera (Cowen) Beck.

Mrs. Beck was born in Philadelphia on February 8, 1950, the daughter of the late Francis and Miriam (Horan) Carey.

Surviving are their children, a daughter, Verity Beck and a son, Justin Beck (Mary Stephanie), their grandchildren, Amelia, Tragen, Mary Adeline and Vera. Reid was also survived by his sister, Connie Lee and brothers, Douglas Beck and Gregory Beck. Miriam was also survived by her brothers, Joseph Carey and Robert Carey. She was predeceased by a brother, Jude Carey.

Reid was a 50-year member of Union Local 420 and served as the Director of training. Miriam was a nurse for 40 years and was employed for the last 20 years by the Lower Moreland High School. They were a deeply devoted couple who were very kind and compassionate parents and grandparents. Reid and Miriam were happiest when the entire family was together at Sea Isle City and they forever loved their friendships on 80th Street.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday March 3, 2023 from 5-7 PM at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA 19046 and at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006, on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 10:50 AM, with a Liturgy of the Word service at 11:00 AM.
