Rev. Arthur Johnson, Jr.

Rev. Arthur Johnson, Jr., 87, of Philadelphia, PA passed away Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 peacefully, at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, in Philadelphia. Arthur was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 1, 1936, a son of the late Rosa (Smith) and Arthur Johnson, Sr. He was the beloved husband of Etheria (Robinson) Johnson for almost 52 years. He was the Pastor Emeritus of Tacony Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA.

Rev. Johnson is survived by his wife Etheria Johnson; Children, Valerie Berry of Philadelphia, PA., Evangelist Carmenita Sewell of Centreville, Va., and Dr. Arthur Johnson III (Tarin) of Portsmouth, Va.; Siblings, Juanita Madden of Detroit, MI., Genevive Brown of Wyndmoor, PA. , Catherine Jenkins (William) of Fraser, MI., and William Johnson of Philadelphia; Siblings-in-Law; Charles Robinson Sr. of Homosassa, Fl., Rosalind Johnson of Denmark, SC., James Robinson Jr. of Chamblee, GA., Gwen Robinson of Trenton, NJ., Gail Robinson of Ewing, NJ., Emmanuel Robinson (Betty) of Glen Allen, VA., and Ray Robinson of Ewing, NJ.; Grandchildren, Kiana Berry and Keisha Berry of Philadelphia, PA., Jamar Johnson (Tiffani) of Sterling, VA., Alexander Sewell of Wheaton, MD., Oman Sewell of Philadelphia, PA., and Ava Johnson of Portsmouth, VA.; Great Grandchildren, Malika VanPetten, Imani VanPetten, Ishmael VanPetten, and Ashay Sewell all of Philadelphia, PA., Xavier Sewell and Zora Sewell of Wheaton, MD.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, March 17th. 2023 at the Hoffmann Meyers Givnish Funeral Home 1770 Brown Ave. (at Hulmeville Rd.) in Bensalem, PA. A second Viewing will be held from 9-10 AM on Saturday, March 18th at Tacony Baptist Church 4715 Disston St. in Philadelphia, PA. The Homegoing Service will begin at 10 AM.  His interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 County Line Rd, Huntingdon Valley, PA.
