Richard Harry Auris of Audubon, PA Richard “Dick” Auris passed away peacefully at age 78 on Monday, October 10, 2016 in Royersford, PA. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Barbara T. Auris, his daughter Barbara, his sons Richard and Jonathan and three grandchildren, Brittany, Brooke and Andrew as well as 2 great grandsons, Patrick and Cole. He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew, in 1971. Richard spent most of his life in the Philadelphia area, graduating from Springfield High School and going on to work at the Philadelphia Electric Company for over 30 years. He married in 1959, living in Lafayette Hill, Conshohocken and Audubon, PA. He served in the Army National Guard while raising his family. After taking an early retirement, he spent his free time fishing, doing crossword puzzles and traveling. He traveled overseas to France, Iceland, China and Kenya as well as in the United States to Alaska and Hawaii. He was also an avid reader who knew a lot about history and nature, which helped him when he served as a Boy Scout leader for many years. He served his community through his church and through his service at the Lower Providence Sewer Authority. A viewing will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church at 1260 South Trooper Road in Norristown from 8:45-9:45 before a funeral mass at 10:00 on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
