Richard Allan Bennett

Richard Allan Bennett, 72, of Jenkintown, PA passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Richard was born in Abington, PA on September 17, 1950, a son of the late Elizabeth (Vickery) and Robert Bennett. He is a lifetime resident of Jenkintown, PA.

Richard served in the US Navy and was a charter boat captain for many years. Combining his technical abilities and his artistic talent, he founded Charterboat Charts Inc. and made and sold nautical charts spanning the coast of New Jersey. He spent numerous summers enjoying time with his kids at the marina and on his boat.

“Critch” was President of B.A.C.A. (Bikers Against Child Abuse) Montco and led the organization to assist abused children and other similar organizations. He dedicated his last 20 years supporting their cause and enjoyed riding with his fellow bikers.

Richard is survived by his wife; Nancy Bennett, children; R. Alex Bennett (wife Christy Bennett) and Megan Passerini (husband Brian Passerini) and his loving grandchildren; Ryan, Mia, Charlotte, Claudia, Iris, and Bennett.

He is also survived by his brothers, David Bennett and his wife Patty, and Bob Bennett and his wife Linda.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, August 5th from 9:30-11:30am at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave. Jenkintown, PA. A contemporary service will take place at 11:30am.
