Richard Joseph Delaney, Jr., age 85, of West Norriton Township, a retired Sales engineer for Anaconda American Brass Co., died peacefully at home, Tuesday morning, April 17, 2012. Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, and graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Engineering, he was the son of the late Richard, Sr. and Laura (Halloran) Delaney. He was predeceased by his sister, Laura Delaney, in 1993. Richard is survived by his wife Carol (Rubin) Delaney, and four children; Barbara Kirkpatrick of Jeffersonville, Bruce (Susan) Delaney of Jeffersonville, Debbie (Bruce) Brooks of Barto, and Teresa Delaney of Youngsville, NC. In addition to his four children, his wit and humor will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Christina, Stephanie, Geri (Asa), Michael, Kelly (Telly), Jacqueline, Heather (Nate), Jason (Joelle), Brianna (Aaron), and 7 great grandchildren. Richard is also survived by a brother, Dr. Robert L. Delaney and his wife Jeanine of Flemington, NJ, and numerous nieces & nephews. An avid outdoorsman, he looked forward to his hunting & fishing trips in Maine with his family & friends. He was a corporal in the 1521st Army Air Force Base Unit, serving in Hawaii, from Sept 1944 to Dec 1946 as an airplane and engine specialist and M1 carbine expert. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific campaign medal as well as the World War II victory medal. Relatives & friends may pay respects on Monday morning, April 23rd from 10-10:50AM at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Betzwood, 1260 S. Trooper Rd. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to 'Moosehead Lake Fisheries Coalition", PO Box 100, Rockwood, ME 04478 Viewing on Monday 4-23-12 from 10-10:50 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery
