Richard G. "Dickie", "Rocky" Porter, III passed away suddenly on Friday, March 12, 2010 at his residence in Wayne, PA. He was 68. Mr. Porter was a self-employed painting contractor for Porter Painting. He also worked as a project manager for the Turner Construction Co. and as a general contractor for Temple Hospital in North Philadelphia. Dickie was a member of the Triple ‘S' Sportsman Club and was an avid fisherman who especially loved the Florida Keys, the Delaware Bay, and Canada. He has a black belt in Karate. His hobby was raising pedigree Alaskan malamutes and Siberian huskies and he had two malamutes of his own, Starbuck and Dakota. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 9, 1942, he was a son of Richard G. Porter, II and Norma C.(Zuschnitt) Porter. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Primavera) Porter, who died in 2005. Surviving are two sons, David K. Markowitz of Philadelphia, PA and Bryan L. Porter-Markowitz of Boca Raton, Fl; one grandson; many cousins; and numerous friends. Relatives and Friends are invited to His Memorial Service at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 2:00pm.
