Richard John "Hug" Russo passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Einstein Hospital Hospice in Norristown, PA. He was 75. He graduated from Drexel Institute of Technology with a B.S.M.E. in Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid Philadelphia sports' fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always looked forward to attending his annual reunion, to catch up with his life-long friends from the class of 1958 Audubon High School, NJ. He was also a member of the ROTC during college. Born in Mount Ephraim, NJ on July 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Marin Russo and Anna (Senchuk) Russo, Uncle Serge Senchuk, and brother Donald Russo. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Dolores (Cherry) Russo, and his three children: Richard Jr., Jeff (Erika), and Denise Bedics (Michael Jr). He is also survived by four grandchildren: Jeffrey & Gianna Russo, and Kelsey & Jenna Bedics. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. for a viewing at Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, 101 North Park Avenue, Trooper, PA 19403. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home, followed by mass at 10 a.m. at Visitation BVM Church at 196 North Trooper Road, Eagleville, PA 19403 and Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Richard's memory to the Morris Animal Refuge, 1242 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147.
