Rita T. (Lattanze) Destefano

Rita T. (Lattanze) DeStefano passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, PA. She was 82. Mrs. DeStefano was a resident of Bridgeport, PA. She was a graduate of the former Bridgeport High School, attended Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and she worked as a Laboratory Manager for Eagleville Hospital. Rita was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA, where she belonged to the BVM Sodality. Born in Norristown, PA on December 2, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine (Catanese) Lattanze. Surviving is her loving family including her husband of 56 years, Salvatore G. "Wedgie" DeStefano; three sons: Sullivan L. DeStefano of Atglen, PA, Mark A. DeStefano of Collegeville, PA and Michael A. DeStefano of Bridgeport, PA; a granddaughter, Sierra; and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Thomas, William, John, Joseph, Andrew and Franklin; and a sister, Eleanor Rinehold. Rita's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Worship Site, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:00 am. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8:00 pm, at The Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA; also Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:50 am, at the worship site.
