Rita M. Firuta

With her family by her side, Rita M. (Bearoff) Firuta passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Phoenixville Hospital in Phoenixville, PA. She was 80. Rita was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Royersford, PA and was a retired elementary teacher for the Upper Merion Area School District. Born in Bridgeport, PA on August 28, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Granese) Bearoff. Rita was the wife of the late Edward S. Firuta who died in 1981. Surviving are her loving family including a son, Paul E. Firuta and his wife, Jackie; 3 daughters, Holly A. Firuta, Beth Neesham and her husband, Duane, and Nancy J. Tillery and her husband Steve. Rita also had 4 grandchildren: Joseph, Matthew, and Michael Firuta, and Andrew Tillery; and a sister, Emily Scandone and her husband, Joseph. She is preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Bearoff.Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 838 Walnut St., Royersford, PA 19468 on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 10:00am. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church.
