Rita M. Flederbach, 84, of Trooper, PA passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023. Rita was born May 18,1938 in Carbondale, PA to the late Dominic and Angela (nee Petruzella) Lapera.
In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by her husband Gerald W. Flederbach; her brother, Dominic and his wife Jackie and their two children, Joyce and Beth.
Rita is survived by her son Gerald Jr; daughter, Wendy Marcolina (Lou); brother, Joe Lapera (Esperanza); and sister, Deborah Horton (Sam). She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, Tony, Nancy, Joey, Susie, Greg and Matthew.
Rita loved spending time with her children and family. She enjoyed being outdoors on her deck and walking through Valley Forge Park. She also enjoyed the family dog, Chloe of 17 years and her recently adopted dog, Brownie. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening, was a great Bocce player and loved going to the Casinos. Rita attended St. Teresa Of Avila church in Trooper several days during the week and weekend. During Rita’s last few years of dealing with Dementia ,she was blessed to be surrounded by people who adored her and she adored them.
Relatives and friends are invited to Rita’s viewing on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 6-8pm at the Szpindor-Meyers Funeral Home, 101 N. Park Ave., Norristown, PA 19403. Relatives and friends may also call on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church; 15 Fallbrook St, Carbondale, PA 18407, from 10:30-11:20 am, followed by her funeral mass starting at 11:30am. Her interment will be held in Mother of Sorrows Cemetery.
