Rita Theresa Gallagher

Rita Theresa Gallagher Rita T. Gallagher, 71, passed away on March 2, 2017 at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Rita Gallagher, her brother Joseph Gallagher, and her sisters Joan Cameron (nee Gallagher) and Mary Jo Stubbs (nee Gallagher). She was a lifelong resident of the city, having graduated from St. Hubert’s High School. She worked for over 25 years as a quality control inspector, beginning her career at High Temp, where her projects included contracts for NASA. After that, she worked on radar-jamming systems as part of her duties at American Electronics Laboratory before moving to a quality-control center operated by RCA (later taken over by General Electric and then Lockheed Martin). Rita was known for her welcoming personality and contagious laugh. She enjoyed crocheting, discussing politics, riding on roller coasters, and spending time with friends and family members. She is survived by her son Sean Gallagher, her brother Edward Gallagher, and many other beloved family members. Family will receive relatives and friends from 2:30-4 PM on Wednesday March 8, 2017 from the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home 6645 Torresdale Ave. in Philadelphia. Her Memorial Service will take place at 4 PM at Meyers.
