Rita F. (Brown) Murtaugh

Rita F. (Brown) Murtaugh passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2009, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Bridgeport, Pa after a brief illness. She was 52. Mrs. Murtaugh worked as a deli clerk for the Wawa Store on Gulph Road in King of Prussia, PA. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport, PA.Born in Charleston, W. VA on March 2, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Edward L. and Lorraine M. (Short) Brown. Surviving are her loving family including her husband of 34 years, Richard Murtaugh; a son, Tim Murtaugh of Bridgeport, Pa.; a daughter, Kelly Murtaugh of Charlotte, NC; a granddaughter, Kayla; three brothers, Thomas Brown and his wife, Linda of Norristown, PA, Jerry Brown and his wife, Diane of E. Norriton, PA and Robert Brown of Bridgeport, PA; four sisters, Barbara Orsini of Napa, California, Connie Gaeto of Bridgeport, PA, Kathy Jones of Bridgeport, PA and Alice Scott and her husband, Mark of King of Prussia, PA; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Lesser.Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford St., Bridgeport, PA 19405 on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 10:00am. Her viewings will be Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm, at The Bacchi-Courtney Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA 19405 and Wednesday morning from 9 to 9:50am, at the church.
