Robert Joseph Altieri

Robert J. Altieri, age 69 of Conshohocken Pennsylvania passed away on January 16th, 2020 with his family by his side. He was born in Conshohocken Pennsylvania on October 25th, 1950. For 50 years, Bob was the beloved husband of Diane (Demaline) Altieri. In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his two sons Robert Michael and his wife Michelle (Morello) of East Norriton and Matthew and his wife Suzette (Schafer) of West Norriton. He was Grandfather to Bobby and Samantha Altieri. Bob is also survived by his brother Joseph Altieri of Conshohocken and his father Joseph Altieri of Morgantown. Bob is preceded in death by his mother Mary (Thompson) Altieri and his sister Diane (Altieri) Riggs. Bob graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in 1969 and resided in Conshohocken from 1950-2008 and then in King of Prussia from 2008-2020. He served in the Unites States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Bob was a decorated veteran who received the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam campaign medal and Rifle Marksman badge. He worked at C & D battery for 5 years. He also worked for 15 years at Quaker Chemical Company in Conshohocken. Later, he was employed by ArcelorMittle Steel Plant (the old Lukens Steel Plant) in Conshohocken. He retired from there in 2013. Bob loved the game of baseball. Throughout his life he played on numerous baseball and softball teams. He enjoyed watching his sons Bob and Matt play ball from little league thru their time in college and the Perkiomen Twilight League. He loved fishing and hunting with his brother Joe and their friends. An animal lover, dogs were always members of the family. Rottweilers were his favorite breed. After retiring, Bob spent much of his time peeling shrimp at Suburban Seafood where he could enjoy talking to the people who came to the store.
