Robert “Bob” William Burke passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Montgomery Subacute & Respiratory Center in Plymouth Meeting, PA. He was 79.
Born on April 4, 1944, in Chester PA., he was a son of the late Edward A. and Dorothy E. (Masteller) Burke.
Bob joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Eddystone High School in 1962. He retired as a TSgt in 2004 with over 21 years. Bob was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in King of Prussia for over 30 years. Bob worked with the church’s youth group, outreach committee, and food ministry for many years. After retiring from BAE Systems in Lansdale as a Senior Test Technician, Bob volunteered driving blood for the Red Cross for 10 years. He was outgoing, enthusiastic, cheerful and generous. Bob loved history, especially WWII and military history. He was an avid traveler, going on trips to Egypt, Sudan, Kenya, South Africa, UK, Cuba, and Europe. Bob shared his experiences giving lectures to elementary school students and seniors.
Surviving is his loving wife of 33 years, Cynthia D. (Beversdorf) Burke; 2 brothers, Edward A. Burke Jr. (Ericka) and James T. Burke (Eileen); 2 sisters, Sheri L. Dunbar (Sam) and Geri L. Burke (Brad Kulesza); 4 nephews; 3 nieces; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 132 E. Valley Forge Road, King of Prussia, PA on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. Visitation will be from 10-10:50am, with service beginning at 11:00am.
